The Great Giftogether 2022: Team Target’s Delivering Holiday Joy to Their Communities This Season

Target | December 19, 2022

Target knows that this season can be challenging for some, and that’s why thier committed to longstanding support of the communities we call home. That includes rallying to support local families in need with gifts and essentials during the holidays through Target's Great Giftogether program, which combines their team members’ creativity and passion with their deep knowledge of and connection to their local community to serve up even more holiday cheer beyond their four walls. And this holiday season, Target is also proud to donate $1 million to their long-time partner Toys for Tots, to deliver extra joy to children nationwide.

Scaling their impact

The Great Giftogether started as the idea of one Target team member for how his team could make an impact, and now includes team members from nearly 2,000 Target stores and supply chain facilities across the country. Here’s how it works: Each Target team partners with a local nonprofit of their choice to identify families in need. Then, with those families’ shopping lists in hand, Target teams carefully select and wrap each gift, including holiday presents and everyday essentials to help them celebrate the season. Finally, they team up with their nonprofit partner to deliver them right in time for the holidays, creating a little extra holiday magic for some very special families.

"The Great Giftogether is an incredible representation of Target's care in action, as well as our work to partner with our communities to create positive impact,” says Ron Brown, vice president, community impact, Target. “It is remarkable to see this program grow each year, and to see the joy our teams are delivering across our communities."

Giving back to their communities has long been a key part of Target’s culture. From the founding of the Dayton Foundation in 1918, to Target's decision to give 5% of our profits back to their communities starting in 1946, Target has a rich legacy of community support.
