Marie Kondo And The Container Store Get Organized Together
Forbes | January 11, 2021
Organizational guru, Marie Kondo and The Container Store have rolled out a new 72-piece product collection. Spanning across all touchpoints of her organizing and storage realm, baskets, boxes and other containers and devices are included. Prices range from $3.99 accessory hangers up to a $149.99 bamboo hamper and are generally within the retailer’s pricing matrix.
Kondo's books series and Netflix special on “The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing” immediately attracted followers overwhelmed by their conspicuous consumption. And while decluttering was the key, she said, it was also about keeping possessions that brought you joy. To that end she introduced a direct-to-consumer collection of organizing and storage products under her name in November of 2019 and now with The Container Store program her brand has arrived in physical stores.
The extra spark of joy in homes is just in time following many retailers in the home business benefitting from people traveling less and spending more time — and money — refurbishing their homes. In hopes to “ spark joy for years to come.”
