Best Buy Becomes Founding Member of Race to Zero Campaign

Best Buy Newsroom | November 10, 2021
Best Buy proudly announces becoming a founding member of the Breakthroughs 2030: Retail campaign, a Race to Zero initiative that aims to accelerate climate action within the retail industry. Best Buy is doing its part to save the planet and create a more sustainable world for Best Buy employees and the communities it serves.
Best Buy partners with retailers such as H&M Group, IKEA, Kingfisher and Walmart to encourage others to accelerate climate action in the industry. Retailers join the Race to Zero effort by setting science-based targets, working to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and committing to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Best Buy has reduced emissions 61% since 2009 and have pledged to be carbon neutral by 2040, a decade faster than its previous goal of 2050. Best Buy CEO Corie Barry shares, “Together, we will be able to make a meaningful and positive impact on the planet by joining forces and collectively rethinking how we do business.”
